Certificate in Education and Training

We now offer a Certificate in Education and Training course from the UK. Our Academy is the FIRST and ONLY Academy in Malaysia to offer an ITEC (UK) Certificate in Education & Training. Whether or not you are already a teacher or would like to be a teacher (in any subject), or would like to teach or open a Kindergarten, this certificate is for you. Adhering to a comprehensive syllabus as established by the UK, our course is to prepare trainees to become teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. You may also proceed to become a trainer specialised in your field with this certificate.


The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is an ‘in service’ qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers. It may be possible for pre-service teachers/trainers (defined as those who are not formally contracted as teachers/trainers) to also complete this qualification. All candidates, whether pre-service or in-service must have access to 30 hours of teaching. This qualification is also suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment.

The course will give you a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. You will be able to use initial and diagnostic assessments and plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning. You will also be able to assess learning and use appropriate resources to support effective learning.



The qualification covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers in the further education and skills sector, such as: 
• the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
• inclusive teaching and learning approaches
• assessment of learners
• facilitating learning and development for individuals
• facilitating learning and development in groups
• understanding principles and practices of assessment

Prerequisite:
As part of your course you will be required to secure a placement in a suitable environment (more advice on this can be provided by contacting the Academy if you are in doubt).  You must have a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice/experience as part of this qualification to meet the requirements above. You will need to provide audio visual evidence totalling 3 hours to submit to your assessor to demonstrate your competency. These should be separate occasions to show your progression and development.
